#1 The story is taken place at school, the mall, home and at dino's pizza parlor. And Rissa is tiered of Beth's hamy-down clothes but she cant help being short. Rissa and Beth's moms are two peas in a pod and there daughters were born on the same day and in the same hospital. They hoped there little girls would be bffs like them. So Rissa and Beth were best friends until they turned 11. It all started when Beth got to pick the place that they got to have there party at. Because Kerry's brother said it was a cool place and then when they got there Rissa hates the place she also hates the way her friends can have blond streaks in her hair and she cant because she had curly and tangly hair. And thats all we got to today. But my conection is I was born at the same hospital as one of my close friends.
#2The story starts out in the beggining of 5th grade and Rissa and Beth are best friends. But as the school year goes on, Beth becomes intrested in shopping, boys and lip gloss. Rissa does not like it that her other friends are agreing that Beth is right. At dinos resturant, Rissa ends up in the bathroom, crying because all of her friends are making fun of her because the nerdiest guy in school just walked in. They want her to go talk to him because they think that Rissa likes him. She was waiting for Beth to say " stop tesing her." ( Like best friends are supose to do) But instead, Beth is juat shouting with them. Rissa is mad because her and Beth are supose to be friends like their moms were. They thought that becaise the girls were born in the same hospital, at the same time, and they were only a few doors down from eachother. It reminds me of when my grandma had cancer, my mom showed me witch room I was born in and I was 2 doors down from my grandma.

#1 My favorite character is Mary Ann because she is going to college and she wants Rissa to keep her company while she packs. My least favorite character is Beth because she is kind of sassy and likes to sometimes ignore Rissa when she plays with there friends. Sometimes I think Rissa is a little crazy when she talks about books with Violet at lunch.
#2 My favorite characters in the book are Mary Ann and Rissa. I like Mary Ann because she sounds like the kind of person that you could talk to if you had a problem in MS. She reminds me of the time when I wanted to talk about somethmg with my friend, Gabby and I knew I could trust her. I like Rissa because she is brave to leave her "herd" like that. I, personally, don't have the guts to leave my friends like that. If I could say anything to Rissa, I would say "WOW your brave." My least favorite character in the book is Mrs. White. Her and Rissas mom might of been friends but I personally think that Mrs White is mean to Rissa. I bet that she knew that Rissa was allergic to tamatoes so she porpaslly picked a pizza place so she wouldn't be able to eat what she wanted to. I also think she told Brian to come.
Extra Comments: Vannesa do you wonder why Mrs. White didnt do someting or Rissas mom didnt defend her when the girls were teasing her? Yes. I think maybe her mom was doing the same thing as the girls or she was busy ordering the food. Why do you think? I think because her mom might have been in the bathroom or was taking care of gifts.

#1 One of the big moments we read was today because Rissa ate sun dryed tomatos and had a big reaction because she is allergic totamatos. She didnt know it was in the stuffed eggplant and she blew up like a balloon. And She she talked realy funny. So pretty much in the book Rissa has decided to leave the "herd" so she is trying to make friends with a new girl named Violet. And her friends are being mean like at her party they teased her because she waved to Brian Baily and her friends are starting to like the mall, jewlery, clothes and are ignoring her so she is leaving the "herd" like i said.
#2When we read day 5, Rissa ate tomatoes. She is allergic to tomatoes and Violet put them in the rice they had for a little snack. Violet didn't know she was allergic to them and she was very scared and sad to see Rissa puffing up, like a balloon, in her kitchen, because of something she had done. Otherwise, nothing important happend in the book besides Rissa leaving the "herd", Her Brithday party at dinos, and Nelson the gnome getting thrown in the trash. ( Rissa has a gnome collection)
Extra Comments:
Mrs. Rowe: Oh no, I hope Rissa is okay from her reaction! I respect her for making new friends, but it's not nice of the other girls to be so mean. Everyone should be friends with everyone.

#1 Rissa and Violet got a c+ and Violet is upset because grades mean alot to her. Rissa is trying to get Violets mind off of it so she asked what she missed about Vermont and she said "they dont have to call there teacher by there last name and you get to go any were they want for lunch". So now Rissa thinks that Violet had the life in Vermont. Rissa loves Velvet Freeze because she thinks they have the best ice cream and smoothies but she is afraid to ask for it since her Dad made 4 trips when she had the hives.
#2 Rissa and Violet are actullay best friends now!!! They are still a bit disapointed about their grade and Rissa dosen't understand what "good grades" mean to Violet. They still get along though. Today, in the book, Rissa and Violet were talking about the Halloween Contest coming up. Rissa has no idea what to be and to help, she made a list to try and decide. When she was at Velvet Freeze with Mary Ann, Mary Ann showed her a book that had the Satue of Liberty on it. Now, Rissa is going to be the Statue of Liberty for Halloween. And before that, her mom has been acting all nice for the last couple days.
Extra Comments: Lauren, why do you think Mary Ann wants to hang out around Rissa and took her to the ice cream place?

#2 I think that the most unexpected part in the story was when Beth and Rissa got to talk to eachother in the store. They got to catch up on stuff that happened while Rissa wasn't with the "herd." Then, Rissa found out what the girls were doing at her birthday party while she was in the bathroom. She also found out what it was like at Angels party. (They stole beer from down stairs and were forceing Beth and Jayne to drink it because everone else drank it. Beth and Jayne went home early because it was terrible.) Then, while they were talking, Their moms got in a fight about going to see a theripist and what not. It was crazy so Rissa and Beth got out of the store and went and got something to drink. Her mom is still acting a little nicer. Rissa thinks that her mom thinks she doesn't get appreciated enough anymore.
